Bridge Road Brewers began in June 2005 in a shed on Beechworth's Bridge Road, where Ben and Maria Kraus fitted a thousand-litre plant, a bar, a tasting room and a bottling line into one cramped space. Ben had left for Europe to study winemaking and came back a brewer after a stint at a small brewery in Innsbruck. The operation moved into the town's old Coach House and Stables in 2006 and today runs a 340-seat taproom, a pizzeria and a 25-hectolitre brewhouse, with a second venue in East Brunswick, Melbourne.
