At 8.5 per cent the grain carries a caramel sweetness that the hops then bury under grapefruit, pine resin and ripe tropical fruit. Bitterness is deliberately old-school: firm, drying and long, without the softness that modern hazy versions lean on. Drunk young, the aroma stands at its fullest.
