Heavy Mettle presents a bright golden-amber hue with moderate clarity and a fine, persistent white head that leaves distinct lacing on the glass. The carbonation is brisk and well-integrated, supporting a dense foam collar that clings throughout the session. The body reads full and substantial against the light.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with vibrant stone fruit character—peach and nectarine leap forward with juicy immediacy. Amarillo and Galaxy hops layer in bright citrus and tropical notes, with distinct grapefruit zest cutting through the sweetness. Underneath runs a subtle resinous pine foundation that emerges as the beer warms, grounding the brighter aromatics without heaviness.

◐ Taste

The palate is full and warm from the opening, with tropical fruit and grapefruit rising prominently across the mid-palate in a clean, integrated wave. Bitterness builds steadily but never astringently, taking on a distinctly resinous and pine-forward character that dries the finish without harshness. The 9.3% ABV provides structure and lingering warmth that frames rather than overwhelms the hop expression.

The finish turns decisively dry and bitter, with pine and resin persisting cleanly through the aftertaste. This is a lengthy, engaging close that holds the palate without fatigue or astringency, rewarding deliberate sipping.

Serve at 8–11°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.
