Holgate Brewhouse has brewed in the Victorian town of Woodend since 1999, when chemistry graduates Paul and Natasha Holgate turned a backyard set-up into a commercial one. The brewery later moved into a red-brick hotel built in 1896, where a 50-hectolitre German brewhouse now sits below ten guest rooms, a public bar and a taproom. It remains family-owned and independent. Road Trip American IPA took a Consistency of Excellence Award at the 2025 Australian International Beer Awards for three consecutive gold medals.
