◎ Appearance

Deep brown pour with excellent clarity, topped by a dense off-white head that holds firm. The medium body sits clean in the glass, with fine carbonation supporting the foam structure. Head retention is steady, leaving distinct lacing down the sides.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with soft roasted grain and a pronounced nuttiness, backed by earthy English hop character from Northern Brewer and Fuggles. Dark chocolate and light coffee notes sit just beneath the surface, with a whisper of vanilla and rolled oats adding texture and roundness to the profile.

◐ Taste

Entry is smooth and creamy, with oats immediately softening the palate and layering in a subtle sweetness. Mid-palate builds chocolate and coffee depth without harsh roast; bitterness sits restrained at 21 IBU, allowing the malt character to remain the focal point. Vanilla threads through the development, supported by a rich, malty foundation.

◑ Finish

The finish is medium in length with a gentle fade of roast and chocolate, trailing into a soft vanilla note. Sweetness recedes cleanly, leaving behind a dry, malty aftertaste without astringency.

Serve at 10–13°C. Too cold mutes the roasted complexity that makes a good porter worth drinking slowly.
