◎ Appearance

Deep garnet-black with an opaque body and minimal light transmission. A dense, tan-brown head forms on the pour and clings persistently to the glass walls with fine lacing. Carbonation appears moderate, creating a gentle cascade rather than aggressive bubble activity.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with resinous hop character—mango and citrus zest—layered over warm dark chocolate and dried stone fruit. Beneath the hop-forward top note, clove and faint licorice emerge from the Belgian yeast contribution, with a subtle warming alcohol present. The specialty malts ground the profile in cocoa powder and raisin undertones.

◐ Taste

Entry is full-bodied and warming, with assertive bitterness building mid-palate through the seven hop additions. Malt sweetness—roasted chocolate and dried peach—balances the resinous bite, while clove spice from the yeast weaves through. The finish turns increasingly dry and herbal, with a lingering bitter backbone that speaks to the imperial IPA structure.

◑ Finish

Long and warming, with boozy alcohol heat settling into the throat and a persistent dry, hoppy aftertaste. The bitterness fades slowly, leaving clove and cocoa notes that extend well into the glass.

Serve at 8–11°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.
