Independent brewery on the Gold Coast, started by three friends, Dan, Eddie and Govs, whose first beer in 2014 was an Eggnog Stout. The Burleigh Heads brewery and taproom opened in 2016, and in 2018 Black Hops was named Champion Small Brewery at the Australian International Beer Awards. A much larger second site in Biggera Waters followed in 2019 and now carries most production. In 2024 a new ownership group took over and saved the business from liquidation. The range covers a hop-led core, the lighter East Coast beers and quarterly limited releases.
