Stone & Wood Brewing Co.
Stone & Wood was founded in Byron Bay in 2008 by Brad Rogers, Jamie Cook and Ross Jurisich, three colleagues who had worked together in the craft arm of a large brewing group. The first two beers were a pale lager and a draught ale that later became Pacific Ale and made the Galaxy hop widely known. A larger brewery opened in Murwillumbah in 2014 and carries most of the production, while the Byron Bay site on Centennial Circuit serves as tasting room and home of the limited brews. The company has belonged to Lion since 2021 and also runs a brewpub in Brisbane.

They stay close to the peer baseline on their recurring notes.
How we measure this
Two thresholds are at work here:
- The signature list shows notes that recur in at least 6% of this brewery's beers. A low bar — enough to flag a pattern, not high enough to call it an exclusive trait.
- The peer comparison below shows only notes where this brewery's coverage differs from similar breweries by at least 20 percentage points. A higher bar — enough to call a real difference, not a nudge.
A note can appear on the signature list without appearing in the peer comparison: it recurs here, but similar breweries do the same thing.
Green Coast Lager
Their beers place in the Top 33% of the catalogue on average, across 14 ranked beers. Consistent rather than spiky — no single standout carrying the rest.
