Cloudy Pale Ale

Tap to rate

Cloudy Pale Ale is the relaunched successor to Cloud Catcher and has carried its present name since 2023. The brewery presents it as the next step up from Pacific Ale. It pours with a golden haze and shows tropical and stone fruit in aroma and flavour, brought by late additions of several Australian hop varieties. The malt stays in the background, bitterness is low and the mouthfeel smooth. It no longer appears on the brewery's website and is found mainly on tap.

Tasting Notes

AI-generated sensory profile for Cloudy Pale Ale

◎ Appearance

Pale golden colour with a distinctly hazy, opaque character that justifies its name. The beer pours with a generous, pillowy white head that settles into a fine collar, holding good lacing against the glass. Fine carbonation sits suspended throughout the body, creating a soft, cloudy suspension rather than sharp clarity.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with bright passionfruit and fresh apricot, followed by secondary stone fruit notes that build in the glass. Galaxy and Ella hops deliver a clean tropical sweetness without herbaceous sharpness, while the malt recedes into a subtle backdrop. No yeast-derived or fermentation notes intrude; the fruit aromatics dominate cleanly from first approach to final sniff.

Serve & Enjoy

How to get the most out of Cloudy Pale Ale

Serve at 7–10°C
Refrigerate, then rest 2 min

Cold enough to sharpen the hop aroma without numbing the palate. Around 7–9°C keeps the citrus and pine vivid without losing bitterness definition.
