Award winningKnown for a full range of styles

Philter Brewing began in 2017 and moved into a disused 1960s yoghurt factory on Sydenham Road in industrial Marrickville in late 2019, keeping the old facade and bringing the building back into use. Behind it stands a four-vessel 25-hectolitre brewhouse with capacity for 2.5 million litres a year, a canning line, a public bar and a rooftop terrace. The range runs from a cloudy flagship XPA through hazy and West Coast IPAs to dark ales and kettle-soured Berliner weisses. In 2025 the brewery was named Champion Australian Independent Brewery.

Their signature has to hold across very different styles — which makes the notes that do recur more telling, not less.
