Smithers Brewing Company opened on 27 June 2018 in downtown Smithers, a mountain town in northern British Columbia. Childhood friends Adin Bennett and Blaine Estby built it from the ground up on a 3rd Avenue lot, with the timber framing and joinery done by local craftspeople. Head brewer and partner Cam McKeigan came from Wheelhouse Brewing in Prince Rupert. A 15hL brewhouse carries the mainstays, a 1.3hL pilot system the one-off batches. Named Brewery of the Year at the 2025 Canadian Brewing Awards.
