Founded in 1786 by English immigrant John Molson on the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Montreal, Molson is one of the oldest continuously operating brewing companies in North America. In 2005, Molson merged with Colorado's Adolph Coors Company to form what is now Molson Coors Beverage Company, one of the world's five largest brewers. The Canadian operations are run through Molson Coors Canada Inc. Molson Canadian, introduced in 1959, remains the brewery's flagship lager brand.
