Wayward Brewing Co. was launched in Sydney in 2012 by Peter Philip as a gypsy brewer, releasing an India Red Ale, a Kellerbier, a Bière de Garde and an Eisbock on borrowed kit. In 2015 the brewery moved into a former wine cellar on Gehrig Lane in Camperdown, with Shaun Blissett as head brewer. The core range centres on sessionable pale ales, a lager, two IPAs and a raspberry Berliner Weisse. Since 2025 the brand belongs to the UK-based Powder Monkey Group and is brewed at Akasha's Five Dock site; the Camperdown taproom closed in August 2025.

Drawn from all 8 beers in the catalogue.
Four notes carry across the range. That's a tight house style — most breweries in the catalogue share just one.
Their signature has to hold across very different styles — which makes the notes that do recur more telling, not less.
Across 8 beers in 5 style families, none of Wayward Brewing Co.'s characters carry through the whole range — the mix of styles they brew is the signature here.
