Wayward Raspberry Berliner Weisse

◎ Appearance

Pours a vivid pink, the result of fresh raspberry adjunct integration with the beer's pale wheat base. Clarity is excellent, with bright translucence that catches the light. A delicate white head forms initially, settling into a fine Schaumkleiden along the glass rim, typical of the low-gravity Berliner Weisse format.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with pronounced fresh raspberry—bright and jammy without oxidation. Beneath the fruit, a gentle wheat malt character provides a soft, bready foundation. A faint lactic tang emerges on closer inspection, signaling the beer's sour character before it reaches the palate.

◐ Taste

Entry is zippy and lemon-like, with a sharp acidity that coats the palate immediately. Mid-palate shows the interplay of tart raspberry and crisp wheat, with minimal bitterness (10 IBU registers as barely perceptible). The body remains thin and dry throughout, never cloying, with a clean wheat character supporting the sour and berry notes.

◑ Finish

The finish is crisp and very dry, with the acidity lingering as a clean, mouth-puckering aftertaste. No sweetness remains; the experience closes on the tart fruit and citrus notes.

Serve at 6–9°C for the best flavour balance and aroma expression.
