Pinkus Müller is a family brewery in the Kuhviertel of Münster's old town. Johannes Müller and Friederika Cramer founded a bakery and brewery here in 1816; in 1866 the bakery gave way to a malthouse. The name comes from Carl "Pinkus" Müller, brewer, host and tenor, whose signature and a musical note form the logo. Now run by the seventh generation, it is the last of the roughly 150 altbier breweries Münster once had and has brewed only with certified organic ingredients since 1990, fermenting in open vessels with its own yeast.
