Original Pinkus Alt

🌍 Germany · Altbier · One of 30 Altbiers in hopIQ

Original Pinkus Alt is Münster's pale take on altbier and quite unlike the dark Rhineland versions: a top-fermented beer of 11.8 °P from organic Bioland barley malt, whose long maturation leaves a natural lactic acidity and a refreshing, wine-like character. It pours pale gold with a light, grainy and faintly sweet malt nose. The palate is lean and lively, with gentle fruity tartness, hints of citrus and white wine, and a long, dry finish. Locally it is also the base of the traditional fruit Altbierbowle.
