Meckatzer
Meckatzer Löwenbräu is a family-owned brewery in Meckatz, a hamlet of Heimenkirch in the Westallgäu. Brewing rights for the site were granted in 1738, when the area still belonged to Further Austria; after thirteen changes of ownership, Gebhard and Lena Weiß bought the bankrupt country brewery in 1853, and their descendants still run it. Its flagship Weiss-Gold was filed as a trademark in 1905 and became the first registered beer brand of the Allgäu. The range covers pale lagers, a pilsner, bottle-conditioned wheat beers, seasonal specialities and several alcohol-free versions.

How we measure this
Two thresholds are at work here:
- The signature list shows notes that recur in at least 6% of this brewery's beers. A low bar — enough to flag a pattern, not high enough to call it an exclusive trait.
- The peer comparison below shows only notes where this brewery's coverage differs from similar breweries by at least 20 percentage points. A higher bar — enough to call a real difference, not a nudge.
A note can appear on the signature list without appearing in the peer comparison: it recurs here, but similar breweries do the same thing.
