Meckatzer Weiss-Gold

Tap to rate

Weiss-Gold is the brewery's flagship, a bottom-fermented pale lager brewed to 12.5 °P original gravity and known in Meckatz as the Allgäu's Sunday beer. It pours light gold with fine white foam and smells of hay, sponge cake and a herbal, slightly fruity note. The first sip is soft, the carbonation fine and creamy, and malt body and hop bitterness sit in balance before a delicate, hop-led finish. Tettnang aroma hops and Upper Swabian malts go into the brew, which then matures cold for around six weeks.
