On 1 February 1906, Michael Hösl senior took over the establishment, and due to naming disputes with a Gambrinus brewery in Weiden, the business was renamed Hösl-Bräu in 1930. The brewery has remained in family hands across multiple generations, with Hans Hösl taking over in 1947 and his sons Michael and Maximilian succeeding him on 1 January 1985. The brewery expanded its range in 1972 with the introduction of wheat beer production.
