Godspeed opened on Coxwell Avenue in Toronto's east end in July 2017, founded by Luc "Bim" Lafontaine after twelve years at Montreal's Dieu du Ciel and several years spent brewing in Japan. The range is deliberately eclectic — Czech lagers made with decoction mashing and long cold maturation, German styles, saisons, and beers built around Japanese ingredients such as green tea from the brewmaster's own tea field. In recent years the Czech line has become the centre of the portfolio.
