Kernel Bière de Saison

Tap to rate

A farmhouse ale fermented with the brewery's house mixed culture of saison yeast, Brettanomyces and bacteria, on a grist of Maris Otter, wheat malt and oats. Young, it is bright, tart and dry with a subtle spritz: lemon, grass, herbs and the spice of the saison yeast, ending on a gentle sour tang. With age it gains more fruit, deeper spice and soft leathery, funky notes. Batches differ, finished either with seasonal hops or refermented with whole fruit such as raspberries, sour cherries or damsons.
