Retreat pours a hazy gold to light amber, characteristic of the New England style. The cloudiness derives from both the oat adjunct and the yeast suspension, creating an opaque, inviting visual. Head retention is generous, with a persistent collar that clings to the glass.

The nose leads with vibrant tropical fruit—pineapple and melon dominate, layered beneath with berry notes. Cashmere hops contribute a subtle spice and herbal complexity, alongside whispers of coconut, lime and lemongrass that add aromatic depth without overshadowing the fruit-forward character.

The palate enters soft and approachable, with the oat base providing silky mouthfeel and a full, rounded body. The hop profile mirrors the aroma—bright and fruity—while 60 IBU of bitterness remains restrained and well-integrated, never harsh or assertive. The alcohol strength of 8.6% sits comfortably below the surface.

The finish transitions to a crisp dryness that cleanses the palate without stripping it. The aftertaste lingers lightly with residual tropical notes and a gentle herbal fade.
