Pivovar Primátor
Pivovar Primátor brews in Náchod in north-eastern Bohemia, where the town's burghers held brewing rights as early as 1495. The present brewery was founded in 1872 and released its first beer in 1873; the Primátor name dates from 1935, when it was first used for a new dark 12° lager. After decades in municipal hands, the town sold the brewery in 2009 to the Liberec investment group LIF. Wort ferments in open vessels and matures for weeks in the lager cellar, and the range runs from Czech lagers to very strong specials and top-fermented ales.
