Muskoka Brewery opened in Bracebridge, Ontario in 1996, founded by Gary McMullen and Kirk Evans, and has remained independently owned since. It started on Taylor Road with Cream Ale and moved to a larger site on Muskoka Beach Road in 2012, where it also runs a taproom. Most of its beer is left unfiltered, separated by centrifuge rather than filtration. The Moonlight Kettle series, begun in 2015, adds a rotating monthly beer developed by staff teams.
