Detour presents a bright, luminous pale golden hue that catches the light with clarity and vitality. The carbonation is lively and persistent, building a fine white head that displays good retention and adhesion to the glass. Body is notably light and clean, allowing the golden color to shine through without haze or turbidity.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with stone fruit and tropical fruit character—ripe peach and mango dominate the initial impression, followed by distinct pineapple notes that add depth and lift. The dry-hop additions layer a clean, fruity hop character that avoids resinous or piney edges, instead emphasizing bright citrus and stone fruit aromatics. No discernible malt sweetness or yeast-derived character; the aromatic profile remains entirely fruit-forward and hop-centric.

◐ Taste

Entry is crisp and light, with the fruit character from the aroma seamlessly carrying onto the palate—peach and tropical notes provide immediate flavor without fading at the edges. Mid-palate shows a dry, hoppy bitterness that remains fruity in character, resolving toward grapefruit pith and citrus peel rather than resinous or herbal tones. The light body supports a refreshing mouthfeel, allowing the dry bitterness to cut cleanly without astringency.

The finish is notably dry and clean, with lingering citrus and subtle grapefruit notes fading gradually. The bitterness persists without becoming harsh, and the low ABV ensures no warmth or sweetness intrudes to compromise the refreshing character.

Serve well-chilled. Session IPAs are at their best cold — the lower ABV means less warmth to balance the hops.
