Harviestoun Brewery
Harviestoun began in 1983 in a shed near Dollar in Clackmannanshire, Scotland, where Ken Brooker brewed for friends. A first brewhouse in a farm barn followed in 1986, and the company later moved to Alva at the foot of the Ochil Hills. Caledonian Brewery bought the business in 2006; two years later it returned to independent ownership. The house is known for a lager that is also served cask-conditioned, a golden ale and a stout matured in whisky casks. The range is compact today: the lager Schiehallion makes up around two thirds of production and is currently the only beer sold in cans.

How we measure this
Two thresholds are at work here:
- The signature list shows notes that recur in at least 6% of this brewery's beers. A low bar — enough to flag a pattern, not high enough to call it an exclusive trait.
- The peer comparison below shows only notes where this brewery's coverage differs from similar breweries by at least 20 percentage points. A higher bar — enough to call a real difference, not a nudge.
A note can appear on the signature list without appearing in the peer comparison: it recurs here, but similar breweries do the same thing.
Schiehallion
Their beers place in the Top 56% of the catalogue on average, across 10 ranked beers. One clear standout well ahead of the rest.
