Ochil Lager

Tap to rate

Ochil is the lighter of the brewery's two permanent lagers, named after the range of hills behind the brewhouse in Alva. Malted barley and wheat form the base; the hop bill combines Magnum, Challenger, Hersbrucker, Celeia, Aurora and Sorachi Ace. The brewery describes bready and floral aromas with a hint of vanilla blossom, a smooth, crisp and clean palate and a subtle, lingering aftertaste. Bitterness stays in the background.

What is a Pale Lager?

Euro Pale Lagers are clean, refreshing lagers with 4–5.5% ABV and IBU 10–25. Soft malt sweetness, light hop bitterness and high carbonation make them supremely drinkable.

Finding a similar Pale Lager

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same floral, crisp, clean character as Ochil Lager will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
