Ebb and Flow

Tap to rate

Ebb and Flow is an American-style stout, in the range since 2018 and released for the colder months; earlier batches were stronger at 6.5%. The roast is kept deliberately light, showing bittersweet chocolate instead of char, and oats soften the body. For a stout it is hoppy and resinous, a character that comes from Centennial and Simcoe. No lactose or flavourings are used, and the finish is dry and gently bitter.

◐ Taste

Entry is smooth and soft on the palate, thanks to oat additions that round the mouthfeel. Mid-palate develops cocoa and a hoppy bitterness that feels integrated rather than aggressive, finishing with a dry, gently lingering bite from the 45 IBU.
