◎ Aussehen

Deep chestnut brown beneath a stable beige head that displays fine lacing as the beer is consumed. The color derives from a substantial Munich malt base tempered with Carafa Special Type I, lending richness without opacity. Carbonation is moderate and well-integrated, supporting the head's persistence.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with delicate banana esters and clove notes characteristic of top fermentation, layered over roasty chocolate tones. Hoppy citrus accents emerge on secondary inspection, balanced by the warming spice from the yeast. The overall impression is complex yet restrained, neither perfumed nor austere.

◐ Geschmack

Malt and hops arrive in bittersweet equilibrium on entry, the hallmark of proper Altbier balance. The mid-palate develops mild chocolate, caramel, and cocoa notes with a fresh preserved peach quality that brightens the mouthfeel. Body is full without heaviness, supporting the interplay of sweet and bitter elements.

The finish dries cleanly with a pleasantly bitter hop character that extends the experience without lingering harshly. This crisp, dry conclusion is true to the Rhenish Alt tradition and leaves the palate prepared for the next sip.
