◎ Aussehen

Deep black with an opaque, impenetrable core, this Imperial Stout presents a dense, tan head that clings to the glass with persistent lacing. The body reads thick and viscous, with minimal light transmission. Carbonation is restrained, appropriate to the barrel-aged character.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with roasted grain and dark chocolate, deepened by time in wood into vanilla and warm oak. Secondary notes of raisin and dried fig emerge from the dark crystal malt, while a subtle toasted, biscuity edge suggests the Victory malt contribution. Earthy, resinous hop character sits far in the background, never dominating the malt-driven profile.

◐ Geschmack

Entry is smooth and full-bodied, with dehusked roasted malts delivering coffee and cocoa without sharp astringency. The mid-palate unfolds raisin, toffee, and a toasted, biscuit-like warmth, while flaked oats contribute a silky texture throughout. Barrel aging adds subtle vanilla and woody complexity that integrates seamlessly with the malt backbone; earthy hop bitterness provides restraint rather than bite.

◑ Abgang

The finish is long and warming, with lingering chocolate, oak, and a faint earthy hop note drying the palate gradually. Alcohol heat builds gently in the aftertaste without harshness, leaving a satisfying, drying impression.

Etwas wärmer als erwartet. 10–13°C lässt die gerösteten Malz-, Schokoladen- und Kaffeenoten vollständig entfalten.
