Ur-Krostitzer
Ur-Krostitzer is brewed in Krostitz, a village about 15 kilometres north of Leipzig in Saxony. The brewery traces its history to a deed of 11 May 1534 that granted the brewing right for the Crostewitz estate; a first brewhouse followed in 1536. Its trademark, the head of Sweden's King Gustav II Adolf, recalls a story from 1631 in which the king is said to have rewarded the local brewer with a ruby ring for a jug of beer. Run as Krostitzer Brauerei GmbH, the site joined the Binding group in 1990–91 and belongs to the Radeberger Gruppe today. The range is small: a pilsner, its alcohol-free version, a schwarzbier and Schwedenquell, all made with water from the brewery's own wells.

How we measure this
Two thresholds are at work here:
- The signature list shows notes that recur in at least 6% of this brewery's beers. A low bar — enough to flag a pattern, not high enough to call it an exclusive trait.
- The peer comparison below shows only notes where this brewery's coverage differs from similar breweries by at least 20 percentage points. A higher bar — enough to call a real difference, not a nudge.
A note can appear on the signature list without appearing in the peer comparison: it recurs here, but similar breweries do the same thing.
