Nickel Brook was founded in Burlington, Ontario in 2005 by brothers John and Peter Romano, and grew up alongside the province's craft beer movement. The regular range runs from a blonde ale and a lager through pale ale and IPA to a low-strength stout, with a rotating small-batch programme beside it. In 2016 the original Drury Lane site was turned into the Funk Lab, a separate facility given over to sour and mixed-fermentation brewing. Production has since moved to Mainway, and a second taproom opened in Etobicoke at the former Big Rock brewery.
