Brewing in the village is documented for more than 500 years, and the family took over the brewery on the present estate around 1750. Johannes Grasser has led it since 1995, now with his son Andreas; both are master brewers. Barley comes directly from local farmers and is malted nearby, and the water is drawn from a dry valley close to the village. Four year-round beers are joined by seasonal brews made in small batches.
