◎ Appearance

Pours a deep russet with crimson undertones, displaying the characteristic darkness of the Belgian Strong Dark style. A dense off-white head forms atop, with good initial retention and visible lacing as the beer settles. The body shows full opacity, befitting the malt foundation and candi sugar contribution.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with ripe fig and stewed cherry, accented by a delicate clove spice characteristic of Belgian yeast. Beneath these fruit and spice notes lies a subtle warmth from the alcohol and the complexity of deeply colored Belgian candi sugar. The overall impression is one of refined fruit liqueur rather than raw fermentation.

◐ Taste

The palate opens full and creamy, with ripe banana and chocolate-covered fig emerging in the mid-palate alongside ripe plum notes. The malt backbone provides structure and sweetness without cloying, while the Belgian yeast adds depth and slight spicy undertones. Bitterness remains restrained at 38 IBU, surfacing gently rather than dominating.

◑ Finish

The finish is smooth and warming, with gentle alcohol heat lifting the palate and a lifting bitterness that carries through cleanly. The aftertaste echoes the fruit and chocolate character without lingering astringency, leaving a refined and balanced impression.

Warmer than most — 12–14°C. The fruity esters, spice and warming alcohol need room to breathe.

The wide mouth and heavy base promote head formation and channel rich aromatics toward the nose. Traditional for Belgian strong ales.
