🌍 United States · Belgian Blonde Ale · One of 29 Belgian Blonde Ales in hopIQ

pFriem Belgian Blonde Ale sits at the strong end of its style at 7.5% and is the only year-round beer in the brewery's Select range. Two pilsner malts, one of them malted in Belgium, meet Tettnang, Huell Melon and Citra hops and a traditional ale yeast from the same country. It is bright straw-gold under pillowy white foam. Light clove, pear and apricot rise from the glass; on the palate sweetness and spice meet a touch of tangerine. The finish is assertively bitter, prickly with carbonation and dry. It was earlier sold as Belgian Strong Blonde.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with delicate spice—light clove from the Belgian ale yeast—layered with soft stone fruit notes of pear and apricot. Noble hop character emerges underneath, offering herbal restraint rather than assertive citrus, allowing the malt and yeast complexity to lead.

◐ Taste

The palate balances malt sweetness with a peppery spice that builds through the mid-palate. A touch of tangerine citrus provides brightness without dominating; the structure remains elegant and restrained. The bitterness emerges cleanly in the finish, assertive but not harsh.
