Hoegaarden Grand Cru
Since 1991 Hoegaarden Grand Cru has been the tripel version of the house wheat beer: ochre blonde under a fluffy, snow-white head, with maltiness and fruitiness of banana and peach up front, a bit of yeast and spicy coriander notes, and a soft mouthfeel. At 8.5% it carries on the story of the village where the monks first spiced a wheat beer with orange peel and coriander around 1445.

Serve at 10–13°C in a goblet. The yeast character and carbonation are the stars — cold would suppress both.
The wide mouth and heavy base promote head formation and channel rich aromatics toward the nose. Traditional for Belgian strong ales.
Drink within 2 years. Some complexity develops with age but the yeast character is best relatively fresh.
