Disco Paradiso

Tap to rate

Disco Paradiso is a double IPA of 7.8 % made with a partner brewery from Manchester, whose method of cold-steeping oats was used here. More than 800 kg of Irish oats give a rich, fluffy base and a fuller mouthfeel than the strength suggests. Nelson Sauvin goes into the whirlpool, followed by a double dry hop with Strata, Galaxy and Mosaic. Passion fruit, mango and citrus lead; the finish is subtly resinous and dank.

No harsh solvent character; the aroma remains clean and inviting.

◐ Taste

The palate arrives soft and rounded—a legacy of the cold-steeped oat bill—with a full mouthfeel that belies the moderate ABV. Tropical fruit flavours continue from the aroma, accompanied by a restrained bitterness (80 IBU) that builds gradually rather than dominating. Mid-palate reveals a balanced interplay of sweet malt undertones and resinous, dank hop character, with citrus providing a bright counterpoint throughout.

◑ Finish

The finish is crisp and medium-length, with a subtle resinous and dank aftertaste that lingers pleasantly without turning harsh. Residual bitterness fades to a clean, dry conclusion.

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same tropical, hoppy, full-bodied character as Disco Paradiso will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
