Bornem Tripel

◎ Appearance

Bornem presents a luminous golden blonde hue beneath a stable white head with fine, persistent lacing. The beer displays excellent clarity with bright light transmission, while active carbonation maintains steady bubbling throughout the glass. The foam clings to the sides with refined texture, characteristic of a well-conditioned Belgian tripel.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with spice and vibrant yeast-driven stone fruit, where ripe banana and pear dominate with pleasant clarity. Secondary notes of caramel and subtle nutty warmth emerge beneath, supported by a whisper of Edelhopfen that adds fragrant dimension without sharpness. The overall impression is fruity and inviting, neither fermented nor sharp.

◐ Taste

The palate enters full-bodied and gently sweet, with ripe fruit flavors unfolding across the mid-palate—banana, stone fruit, and light chocolate notes meld seamlessly. Hop bitterness arrives measured at 28 IBU, framing the sweetness without aggression or drying effect. The structure remains supple and balanced, allowing the malt sweetness and spice to sustain across the palate with silky texture.

◑ Finish

The finish transitions dry and clean, shedding the residual sweetness with grace while maintaining a warm, spiced aftertaste. The 9% alcohol warms gently without burning, leaving behind lingering notes of banana and subtle spice that fade slowly.

Serve at 10–13°C in a goblet. The yeast character and carbonation are the stars — cold would suppress both.

The wide mouth and heavy base promote head formation and channel rich aromatics toward the nose. Traditional for Belgian strong ales.
