SAPPP

Tap to rate

SAPPP is the brewery's most heavily hopped double IPA, first released in 2023 and brought back since. It is brewed with oats and wheat and dry-hopped with Simcoe and Citra in three formats: T-90 pellets, Cryo and Spectrum. The brewery describes a beer dripping in hop oils, with squishy, overripe flavours of orange, mango and lemon. Tasters add melon, pineapple and gummy candy, a soft, pillowy texture and a gentle bitterness with a faintly tart edge in the finish.

◐ Taste

The palate opens soft and approachable, with the oat and wheat providing a smooth, pillowy mouthfeel. Ripe stone fruit and melon flavors emerge mid-palate, accompanied by gummy candy character that aligns with the nose. Bitterness integrates gently throughout, never harsh, and builds into a subtle tart edge in the finish—a restrained expression surprising for a double IPA.

IPAs are hop-forward ales with 5.5–7.5% ABV and IBU 40–70+. Bold hop aroma — citrus, tropical, resinous — with firm bitterness and a dry, clean finish.

hopIQ matches by flavor profile — not just style label. A beer with the same hoppy, resinous, citrusy character as SAPPP will score highly even if brewed in a different country or under a different sub-style name.
