Deep garnet-brown to near-black, with an opaque body that reveals only sparse light at the edges. A tan foam head forms with moderate density and shows firm Schaumhaftung down the glass. Carbonation is crisp and even, producing fine bubbles that drive gentle lacing throughout the drink.

◌ Aroma

Fresh pine and resinous hop character dominates, enhanced by the grassy, undried-cone quality that gives green herbal notes. Beneath lies a roasted malt foundation with pronounced coffee and cocoa powder notes, creating a complex interplay between bitter botanicals and warm grain. A subtle citrus edge—grapefruit zest—threads through the mid-palate aroma.

◐ Geschmack

Bitterness strikes immediately from dual vectors: peppery hop resin and dry roasted grain, hitting 70 IBU with conviction and layering rather than dominating. The mid-palate carries chocolate and coffee notes with a slight char, while pine and citrus continue to assert themselves against the darkened malt sweetness. The body is medium, lean and dry by design, with no residual sugar to buffer the long finish.

◑ Abgang

The close is definitively dry and lingers for several minutes, with coffee, pine, and a faint citrus bite persisting on the palate. Aftertaste remains bitter and herbal, never cloying, reinforcing the beer's harvest-fresh character.
