◎ Aussehen

Deep black to dark brown in the glass, opaque and impenetrable to light. The dense, persistent head displays fine Schaumkleiden that cling to the sides, indicating vigorous carbonation and strong malt structure. A model of visual presence for the Black IPA style.

◌ Aroma

The nose opens with dark chocolate and wood smoke, layered beneath resinous American hop resins that bring forward pine and citrus notes. Roasted malt provides earthiness without harshness, while a subtle burnt character adds depth. The hop profile dominates without obscuring the darker malts underneath.

◐ Geschmack

Entry is broad and roasted, with pronounced malt sweetness balanced immediately by a wave of bitter, resinous hops. The mid-palate layers piney and citrus hop character over chocolate and smoke, maintaining structural tension between darkness and brightness. Bitterness builds steadily and finishes assertive but not harsh, backed by 7.5% alcohol that adds warmth without dominance.

◑ Abgang

The finish is dry and lingering, with resinous hop bitterness fading gradually into a chocolate and smoke aftertaste. Residual warmth persists for several minutes without becoming hot.
