Halo Oat Stout

◎ Aussehen

Deep brown to black in color, with the dark opacity characteristic of a stout despite the minimal alcohol content. The head is modest but stable, with fine-grained foam that clings to the glass walls with delicate lacing. Carbonation is restrained, appropriate to the style.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with pronounced espresso and roasted malt character, lending an earthy, coffee-forward quality that dominates the initial impression. Underneath, notes of dark chocolate and liquorice emerge, adding sweetness and anise-like complexity. The roasted profile is clean and well-defined, with no thin or astringent edges.

◐ Geschmack

Entry is smooth and rounded, a direct result of the oats in the grain bill, which soften what might otherwise feel thin at 0.3% ABV. Dark chocolate and liquorice flavors develop across the mid-palate, supported by deep roasted malt undertones. Bitterness is moderate at 40 IBU, measured and restrained, finishing with a dry, roasted edge rather than harsh grip.

◑ Abgang

The finish is dry and of medium length, with roasted malt and a gentle espresso note persisting in the aftertaste. The oat-derived smoothness carries through to the end, preventing any sharp drying sensation.
