Pours deep opaque black with a fine tan head that settles to a thin collar. Clarity is absent—the beer presents as a solid wall of dark liquid. Carbonation appears modest, suggesting a restrained effervescence typical of the lager style.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with roasted malt character: chocolate and espresso grounds dominate without harshness. A secondary layer of dark cherry and subtle molasses emerges as the beer warms, balanced by a trace of clean lager yeast. The rice adjunct keeps the overall impression light and approachable rather than heavy or grain-forward.

◐ Geschmack

Entry is smooth and dry, with roasted flavors—cocoa and coffee—immediately present but not astringent. The palate remains light-bodied despite the dark color; the rice contribution becomes apparent in the mid-palate, where sweetness (molasses, cherry) emerges without cloying. Low bitterness (22 IBU) means roast reads as flavor rather than bite, finishing crisp and lager-clean.

The finish is short to medium, dry and clean, with roasted notes lingering briefly. No stickiness or residual sweetness; the aftertaste is straightforward malt and a whisper of espresso.
