Tap Social Movement
Tap Social Movement is a social enterprise brewery in Oxford, set up in 2016 to combine brewing with criminal justice work: it provides paid employment and training for people in prison on day release and for prison leavers. Brewing moved to a larger production site in May 2022, a few miles from the original brewery in West Oxford, where small-batch beers are still made at the taproom. The core range is sold year-round in cans and kegs, joined by seasonal releases and collaborations. The can artwork is created by a prisoner at HMP Huntercombe.

How we measure this
Two thresholds are at work here:
- The signature list shows notes that recur in at least 6% of this brewery's beers. A low bar — enough to flag a pattern, not high enough to call it an exclusive trait.
- The peer comparison below shows only notes where this brewery's coverage differs from similar breweries by at least 20 percentage points. A higher bar — enough to call a real difference, not a nudge.
A note can appear on the signature list without appearing in the peer comparison: it recurs here, but similar breweries do the same thing.
Golden Ratio
Their beers place in the Top 61% of the catalogue on average, across 2 ranked beers. One clear standout well ahead of the rest.
