Tasting Notes

AI-generated sensory profile for Two Player Mode

◎ Appearance

Deep brown to near-black color with rich opacity, characteristic of the Porter style at SRM 28. A dense, tan head forms quickly and clings persistently to the glass, leaving fine lacework as you drink. Carbonation is moderate and steady, supporting the beer's structure without aggressive bubbling.

◌ Aroma

The nose leads with roasted malt complexity—burnt toast, cocoa powder, and subtle coffee grounds dominate the first impression. Beneath lies a refined hop character from Sultana, Solero, and Trident, adding herbal and citrus undertones that don't overpower the malt foundation. The hop oil experimentation contributes a delicate resinous whisper that rounds out the aromatic profile.

◐ Taste

Entry is smooth and malt-centric, with roasted grain and dark chocolate forming the core flavor. Mid-palate reveals layers of coffee and a gentle bitterness (33 IBU) that integrates seamlessly rather than asserting itself sharply. The hop oils provide a subtle spice and mineral quality that prevents the beer from becoming one-dimensional, while the 6.2% ABV allows the malt character to shine without heat.

◑ Finish

The finish is dry and moderately long, with roasted notes lingering on the palate. A slight mineral-herbal quality from the hops persists without becoming astringent, leaving a satisfying cocoa-dust aftertaste.

Serve at 10–13°C. Too cold mutes the roasted complexity that makes a good porter worth drinking slowly.
