Time Better Spent

Tap to rate

Time Better Spent is the house IPA of Tap Social and its best-selling beer, part of the year-round range and sold in 440 ml cans. It is heavily hopped with Citra and Mosaic. A mild bitterness opens, then peach, passion fruit and mango take over in aroma and flavour. The name refers to prisoners locked in their cells for most of the day: hours in training and work are better spent. In 2023 it won bronze in the pale ale class of the regional SIBA bottle and can awards for the South East.

◐ Taste

Entry presents a mild bitterness that quickly recedes, allowing the hop-driven fruit character to take centre stage. The palate is filled with stone and tropical fruit—peach, mango, and passionfruit layering across the mid-palate with a clean, dry impression. The 60 IBU bitterness is restrained and provides balance rather than dominance, supporting the fruit without harshness.

Serve at 8–11°C

Serve well-chilled. Session IPAs are at their best cold — the lower ABV means less warmth to balance the hops.

Tulip glass

The curved shape concentrates hop aromas and supports a thick head. Essential for aromatic ales and IPAs where the nose is half the experience.

Drink fresh. Session IPAs are brewed to be consumed young — the hops are at their best now.
