Highland Park Brewery was founded in June 2014 by Bob and Tiffany Kunz together with co-owner Ross Stevenson, in a small back room of a neighborhood bar on York Boulevard in the Highland Park district of Los Angeles. It started on a seven-barrel brewhouse, and that first space still runs as a production site. In 2018 a second brewhouse with the taproom opened in Chinatown, across from Los Angeles State Historic Park. The range spans West Coast and hazy IPAs, lagers, imperial stouts and mixed-fermentation beers.
