Fidens Brewing Co. was founded in 2019 by Steve Parker and Tim Pierce in Colonie, a suburb just outside Albany in New York's Capital Region. The name, suggested by Parker's wife Raquel, comes from the Latin word for 'courageous.' The brewery quickly earned a national reputation for its hop-forward IPAs, accumulating nearly 400,000 Untappd check-ins and a cumulative rating of 4.38 — ranking it among the top ten breweries in the United States on that platform. With its original Colonie facility devoted entirely to production, Fidens later expanded by opening a brewpub in Albany's Warehouse District.
