Brouwerij De Ranke brews in Dottignies, a village of Mouscron in Hainaut that sits right on the Belgian language border. Nino Bacelle launched Guldenberg under his own name in 1994, brewing as a guest at the Deca brewery in Woesten. In 1996 he joined forces with Guido Devos and the company took the name De Ranke, after the climbing hop bine. After eleven years at Deca the pair opened their own brewhouse in Dottignies in 2005. The brewery works only with whole Belgian hop cones and exports around 60 percent of what it makes.
