It dates to 1867, when the butcher Georg Keesmann qualified as a master brewer at the age of 51 and added a brewhouse to his butcher's shop and inn. The family still runs it in the fifth generation. The brewery inn, a sandstone building from the early nineteenth century, is a listed monument. Unusually for Franconia, a Pils accounts for most of the output, alongside a Helles, an amber lager, a wheat beer and three seasonal strong beers.
